FAAB Question in ESPN League

My league is new to the FAAB waiver acquisition style this year, and we've already had a few problems regarding the days of the week and times to set for claims to go through. We ended up changing the claim days to be Wed-Sunday, with claims going through every day at 11 AM.
The problem we ran into today was that a manager was planning to start James White, but since he went inactive at the last second, he was not able to pick up anyone to fill the spot since FAAB waivers are everyday occurrences, and you can't just "add" someone quickly with current settings. Is there a fix to this? Or is it just an unlucky situation that you can't really fix while using FAAB waivers?

I don't know what the exact setting is, but you can set it to go by FAAB on Wednesday or Thursday and then it's just free to pick up whoever you want after that. If a player is dropped on or after Wednesday then that player is up for auction 2 days later.

Would have to create a new league, manually add roster and change settings.

Our league didn't start out as FAAB. We went to the way OP is talking about and then to the way I explained. I don't think we created a whole new league every time. The way OP is talking about is aggravating a hell.

They might have changed it then. This was years ago and I had to do it.

I know we didn't have to accept the league invite again. I'm just the consultant so I don't know exactly what settings do what.

Does anyone know the exact settings input on ESPN to make the FAB bid claims go through one time on Wednesday morning, and then the rest of the week be immediate add/drop (unless they were recently dropped)?

Do you see an option to change it? I tried to find it but I couldn't. Let me know where to look and I'll give you the settings.
