Half ppr. I keep thinking it would be a reach, but between him and Kamara possibly there, My gut says CEH. Crazy talk, right?

I’m picking 7th in a half ppr league and I don’t think CEH will be there. AK is going top 5

Key Stat: Over the past two seasons, when playing on at least 60% of Kansas City’s snaps (11 such games), Damien Williams averaged 25.0 fantasy points per game. Keep in mind, Edwards-Helaire will earn a snap share far greater than just 60%.

The Chief’s Andy Reid-orchestrated Patrick Mahomes-led offense may go down in history as the greatest of all-time. At the very least, they’re this season’s favorites for yards, touchdowns, and points scored. On top of that, Reid is easily the best coach to have calling plays for your fantasy running back. In 13 of the past 16 seasons, Andy Reid’s RB1 has finished top-eight among running backs in fantasy points per game (81%). No other NFL coach or play-caller comes close.

quote:

As far as talent’s concerned, I don’t think that’s in question either. Edwards-Helaire just set the SEC record for receptions by a running back. (Remember, in PPR leagues, targets are worth 2.73x as much as a carry.) In mid-April, our own running back expert Graham Barfield called him the best route runner to come out of college since McCaffrey. That’s all going to be important in Reid’s pass-to-set-up-the-run spread offense, but he’s no slouch as a runner either. He just set all-time marks in PFF rushing grade (fifth-best since 2014) and missed tackles forced per carry (fifth-best since 2014).

quote:

and he was extremely highly coveted. Reid and Brett Veach (and even Mahomes) made this point very clear. They knew he was going to be their pick before the Draft even started. They view him as “a featured back” fully capable of being able to handle and “thrive” in a bell-cow workload. Veach compared him to McCaffrey. Reid said he was better than Brian Westbrook. (From 2004-2008, under Reid, Westbrook averaged 21.4 fantasy points per game, which ranked behind only LaDanian Tomlinson.)

Edwards-Helaire will be a top-five running back in 2020.

quote:

He’s an exceptional receiver and bowling-ball runner on whom the Chiefs spent a first-round pick. In 2017, Kansas City had a rookie RB — Kareem Hunt — who led the NFL in rushing. And that was before Patrick Mahomes. CEH has legit top-3 RB upside.

Looks good at 6

News out of camp has been really good except for one thing. He is terrible in pass blocking. Now that shouldn't matter because he should be used as a receiver anyways. But OC has mentioned it and how he needs to get a lot better

The first time he whiffs a block and Mahommes comes up gimpy, you can bet your arse CEH won’t be on the field.

That’s been my biggest concern with his ADP when there’s safer options.

In my keeper league, I’m considering CEH or Chubb. I pick 1st overall so most of the RB1s are already gone. I’ve got DJ Moore for an 8th round pick and TY Hilton for a 12th round pick. I’m giving up Tyreek as my 1st round pick because I’m scared there won’t be any decent starting RBs by the time it gets back to my pick at the end of the 2nd. Being the number 1 overall pick will guarantee me the best RB that hasn’t been kept. Right now that looks like Chubb but, I have seriously been considering CEH first overall with this leagues setup. Who would you take in a 10 team 0.5 PPR?

I'd take the upside of CEH over Chubb! I've been in quite a few drafts recently and CEH is going anywhere from 5 to 9, across the board!

Then I look back to a draft I did from earlier in the summer where I got him in the 4th round

I could keep Mixon for a 1st round pick but I’d have to give up one of my WRs. I like the value of my WRs right now. Out of CEH, Chubb, or Mixon who would you take 1st overall? I really don’t trust Mixon. It seems like he has been hyped up a lot the past few years and people have drafted him too early. Albeit his team sucks but Burrow should help. I’m really leaning more towards CEH or Chubb. I do think the upside of CEH is tremendous though. Chubb just seems more consistent.
