Rice situation reminds me of when everyone thought Tyreek was going to be suspended a few years back and people got him at a bargain price.

Oh I will be heavy on the Rice ownership. Loved having him last season.

Not overly fantasy relevant, but huge NFL news ...

Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy, who is primed to get significant playing time in the backfield and was carted off the field on Tuesday, was diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain, sources say. Much better than anticipated.

He’s in a boot and is week-to-week. But not long-term.

Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.

KC opens up at home vs Baltimore and then Cincinnati.

From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: The #49ers and Brandon Aiyuk aren’t that far apart on a deal, which is why they haven’t pulled the trigger on a trade to the #Steelers and Aiyuk is still hoping they can clear one final hurdle in the negotiations.

Mike Garafolo

Also saw that Dan Campbell thinks they're good on Jahmyr Gibbs. No link, sorry.

Or if you’re really ambitious, fire up the Sione Vaki pain train.

Good news on #Lions Pro Bowl RB Jahmyr Gibbs. Sources say the hamstring injury he suffered is not considered significant, but the team will be very cautious with rest and rehab to make sure he’s 100% healthy. My understanding is he should be ready for Week 1 vs the Rams.

Still makes me super nervous.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports J.J. McCarthy underwent a full meniscus repair and is out for the 2024 season. McCarthy suffered the knee injury during the Vikings’ preseason opener last weekend. It was initially reported as knee soreness, but the issue was later revealed to be a meniscus injury that required surgery. Barring any setbacks, McCarthy should be ready for training camp next year. Without the No. 10 overall pick looking over his shoulder, Sam Darnold is locked in as the Vikings starter this year. With Kevin O’Connell calling the shots and Justin Jefferson as his top receiver, this is the best situation Darnold has ever found himself in as a starter. He will rank as a QB2 to open the season.

The Athletic’s Alec Lewis reports Jordan Addison (leg) was carted off the field during practice on Wednesday. Per Lewis, Addison went up for a contested ball before going down. He hobbled off the field with the help of trainers at first but eventually left on a cart. Having just lost J.J. McCarthy for the season to a lower-body injury, this is not the news Vikings fans want to see. However, it’s fairly standard for players to be carted to the locker room with even minor injuries during camp as a precaution, so fantasy managers shouldn’t panic just yet. Should Addison miss any time, Jalen Nailor would seemingly be in line for the WR2 job opposite Justin Jefferson.

Here’s an interesting one: the Bills tried out former Titans and Jets WR Corey Davis. The former 5th overall pick in draft unretired after a year away and is now seeking a return to the league.

It’s a “mild calf injury” for Jaguars WR Christian Kirk, per Doug Pederson. He won’t practice vs Bucs today.

I know that I'm overreacting to these things and it still scares me with these guys and their preseason "strains"

Good news for the Giants: Rookie WR Malik Nabers is practicing today.

So you can take him off this list of worrisome preseason injuries ... for now.

The #Raiders are naming Gardner Minshew their starting QB, per sources.

Coach Antonio Pierce just informed the QBs of his decision after a camp battle between Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

Minshew Mania continues in Las Vegas, which opens Sept. 8 vs. the #Chargers.
