I might not even keep Desmond. I don't see a big deal on two people trading fringe 12th keepers to address their position weaknesses.

I made two trades this offseason for the sole purpose of giving me options:

Brad Lidge for Yonder Alonso/Brandon Allen
and
Brandon Morrow for Scott Rolen/Magglio Ordonez

I may or may not keep Lidge and/or Morrow, but I knew for a fact that I wasn't keeping Alonso/Allen/Rolen/Ordonez. I wanted to maximize my options.

So, I see where you are coming from in this scenario. Rondo is just butthurt because he doesn't have a SS and he's gonna get stuck with someone like Paul Janish.
