Colorado SP Ubaldo Jimenez pitched four perfect innings on Saturday against San Diego as the Rockies beat the Padres, 4-3. He struck out four batters and threw 31 of his 46 pitches for strikes. Those were his first strikeouts of the spring. "He was making people swing the bat, he was getting people to put the ball in play, and the result is the efficiency in his pitch count ... you like to see that," manager Jim Tracy told MLB.com.

This offseason has been active but it's moved like molasses in the wintertime.

Washington SP Jordan Zimmermann, on track to land the No. 4 spot in the Nationals' rotation, had a solid performance over five innings on Sunday against the Marlins. Zimmermann pitched five scoreless frames and allowed just one walk and three base hits. He struck out two and has yet to be scored upon this spring season. "It was the best outing I had this spring," Zimmermann told MLB.com. "I kept the ball down. The curveball was really sharp today. The curveball is getting a lot better. The first couple of starts, it was hit or miss. I had good feel today. Every time I got the call, I knew it was going to be a good sharp, downward bite to it."

Yeah, I was less than pleased to see that. Hopefully he bounces back. If not, hello Abreu (again).

There was some chatter today about the loser of the fifth starter spot being trade bait for bullpen help (Slowey or Baker).

Has Minor locked up that 5th spot in ATL yet?

Looked good today, but Beachy isn't falling on his arse either. His biggest leg up is that they don't have a lefty in the rotation and Beachy is an experienced swing man.

Jose Bautista, who is coming off a breakout year in 2010, doesn't appear ready to slow down at the plate. Bautista homered on Sunday against the Rays and added two RBI. He is 5 for 6 with two homers, one double and six RBI in his past three spring games. He is now batting .458 (11 for 24) with four runs, three doubles, two homers and eight RBI in nine spring games.

Same as before - upper right of screen - search window.

ive never used that one
i used to click on "player" and search would be in the drop down. it isn't like that anymore
can anyone access the site through their phone? like adding/dropping etc. i wont be by a computer all day like previous years, so im worried my waiver wire work may slack

About the As close situation, just made a speculative pickup of Fuentes, is he in line for the closers role if Bailey is really donezo?
