Have pundits ever been so wrong?

Hillary led almost every imaginable poll from the day she won the nomination until the election. And just a few days ago, papers like the Washington Post and New York Times were not only coronating Hillary, they were assured the Senate would be there's, and optimistic that they'd also gain the House. What happened?!

They were wrong because they refused to be right. Everyone with common sense could see Trump had some big momentum behind him and Hillary was an awful candidate. The pundits did everything they could to carry her water while dismissing Trump's barnstorming across the US. They refused to believe (and still do) that his packed houses all over the country were anything more than a small group of racist white people
