Looking for gate operator suggestions

I've been in my house about a year and a half and my driveway gate has an operator that uses a garage door clicker to open and close. Model is Mighty Mule MM360. It's the kind that is wired to a solar panel for primary power and also uses a little 12V battery.
Nothing is technically wrong with this thing, but my takeaway is it just sucks. Constantly having to troubleshoot, take it apart, etc. My issues with it seem typical based on reading the troubleshooting manual (fickle on windy days, cold days, cloudy days, etc.).
Here are the specs for a reference. LINK
It's just a single wide gate (wooden fence). Looking to replace it with something that isn't a total POS. Anyone have any suggestions?

Liftmaster LA500
I have a heavy, wheeled, 14' gate. Been using for about 8 years.
Dog ate the power cord twice, otherwise flawless.
Not cheap, but very reliable.

I have the same MM360 gate opener. The gate operates only off of the battery. The solar panel or wall transformer accessory only charges the battery. I found their customer service technicians to be very helpful. If you call in with a voltmeter in your hand, they will walk you through your issues.

Yea I worded the OP incorrectly about design of the solar panel, you are right. Their troubleshooting guides are intuitive and easy to follow. I've had to replace the battery a couple times, I know it has to be at least 12V to open the gate, which it usually hovers right over that. My battery looks like a little mini car battery. Maybe I should just get a bigger battery and it would perform more consistently? Is yours constantly giving you trouble and going into random audible alarms?

It was giving me issues until i changed the battery connection. The wires it came with were loop connectors. I swapped those out with disconnect terminals that slide onto the small battery post tabs and my issues went away. The other problem i had was the control panels arent big enough to fit the battery inside so I bought a small switch box to mount the battery in.

I have a GTO 2000XLS, bought in 2012. Never had a problem.
