Does anyone know if camping is allowed here? I cannot find any info regarding it on the website. When we went out there, I thought I saw camping areas near the dam, but I am not sure.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm almost certain there is a campground by the dam. Near the 8 mile trail

Thanks, It'd be nice to take the guns, kayaks, and camping gear and make a weekend of it.

Man, sent an email to a contact on the website. 2 minutes later I got a reply.

There is an improved camping area, Tom Merril Recreation Area, that is very close to the shooting range. The Tom Merril Recreation Area is on the left when you are coming into the wma from Bellevue. I believe there is a sign on the Bodcau Dam road where the road to the recreation area turns off. The turn is just past the Army Corps of Engineers' office that you can see on the right when entering the wma, and across the Bodcau Dam road from the road that goes down to the boat launch When crossing the dam going to the range you can see the rec area on the left at the bottom of the dam beside the outflow channel of the spillway. There is a fee to camp there, but I'm not sure off hand what it is. It's not much though and they have sites with camper hookups as well as sites for tent camping. The rec area is operated by the Corps of Engineers so I would suggest contacting them for more details. Their Bodcau office number is (318) 949-1804. Glad y'all enjoyed the range. If I can help any further let me know, or call our office at (318) 371-3050.

I thought there was a camping thread added to the sticky? Id like to put this info there.

Grew up camping there, They have recently upgraded the camping area. There are several RV spots with hook ups, and plenty of primitive camping spots with BBQ grills and fire pits.
Also available is a hand pump water well for plenty of fresh water, bike trails, gun range.

Getting close for the white perch on duck dam road too.
