Anyone else using Charter/Spectrum receiving a new modem?

Saw an email last night about them shipping an upgraded modem. Said it would deliver improved capacity and bandwidth. I'm supposed to put the old one in the box and ship it back to them. FedEx says it is arriving today. Just curious if anyone else has received theirs and what the difference is. I think I'm paying for 100MB now, and just ran a speedtest and it showed 115Mbps down. Are they upgrading speeds?

This happened to me a few years ago when jumping from 100mbs to 300+ so better speeds could be the reason.

We were upgraded a few months ago. 100 down is now 200 down for no extra cost.

I use Spectrum but have not heard anything about receiving a new modem. I have been with them for over 2.5 years now with the same one. I would like a new one although I haven't really had any issues with this one.

I've had Spectrum for internet only since around 2013 or 2014. Same modem the whole time.
We had UVerse before, but when we cut cable out I wanted Charter/Spectrum for the faster internet. One of the reasons is we were streaming more and Uverse was slow. And they had their own modem/router combo. I switched to them and bought a nice dual band router, and have since added a couple of access points in the past 18 months or so working from home. Most everything is connected with ethernet except for phones/tablets.

It is apparently a DOCSIS 3.1 modem. Arrived this afternoon. Haven’t hooked it up yet because my little baw is streaming Disney + right now. I’ll get it hooked up later and run some Speedtest to see what the difference is.

I just upgraded from 200 to 400 from Charter. The modem came today.
They told me they are providing the modems for free now, because when they charged rental fees, custo.ers went and bought their own modems. Then they would get calls from pissed off customers saying the service sucks, when in reality they had shitty modems which could not provide the speed that Spectrum puts out.
They match up the modem to your service.
