Call Garmin.

I had to do an warranty/exchange after mine fried. I ended up getting a new transducer with package but after some research it didn't support everything. So just call tell them the water depth u want to target and they will get you the best one. If i remember right the older model transducer is much better quality, and when u ask about the ones that are compatible ask if they have the discontinued one lying around somewhere get the model numbers and look on some forums. I did this about 2 years ago.

Regardless Garmin will help and give you the info you need fast... that is only reason i buy Garmin vs simrad/lowrance & hummingbird

Yes, my echomap 73sv calls for a CV52HW that is discontinued, but the new one is a GT52HW

Whatever you do, don't get the CV transducer. There was a lawsuit between Lowrance and Garmin over a patent on technology. Garmin changed the tech "DownVu" to "ClearVu" and removed the center down looking element from the transducer. They then used a stitching method in the software so that the two side viewing elements would interpolate the down view data. The GT transducer has the 3 elements (2 side view, 1 down view) the CV has only 2 side viewing elements

Garmin vs Lowrance

Your Garmin head unit will give you a list of transducers I believe under "Sonar setup" options menu

We also need to know how deep the water are you normally fish. I run a HW (high frequency wide sonar beam cone) geared more for shallow inshore fishing

I should also be clear that not all "GT" transducers are capable of side scanning.

I have a Striker 7SV with the Garmin GT52HW transducer.

My Garmin 54CV, I use a GT22HW transducer that does not side scan

Make sure you get a transducer that can side sscan. Your unit has that side scan feature and you don't want to miss out on it by picking the wrong transducer.
