I posted a thread about a week ago saying that she had a bad reaction to the Moderna Vaccine, but she is doing ok now. She survived Lymphoma about 2 years ago.

But seriously, how in the hell does someone test positive for all 3 of those?

This whole Covid thing has been complete fricking bullshite.

Testing is like voting it depends on who's doing the counting.

She apparently has a robust immune system. Be glad you have some of her genes.

Best wishes to your grandma. Hopefully she gets back to 100% ASAP.

Hospitals make an extra 20% if they can get a positive test off of you.

Go to the ER after a car accident, you may well be dead from COVID in a week or ten days.

Why does this seem impossible to you? One of my kids had flu A and flu B a couple of years back. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

Can you put what she tested for in the thread title? It will fit

I’ve been saying for a while that I had covid back in Feb.

Clinic only tested for Flu, which came back positive for Flu A. Never been hit that hard by the flu. Major fatigue and fever for 3 days and then fatigue lingered for another 4-5 days. Weirdest part was losing taste completely, with virtually no sinus inflammation.

I just don’t know that flu tests are coming up false for covid patients. Wouldnt we have higher positive rates for flu if that was the case?

But the fact she tested positive for Covid makes me skeptical. It’s not like she is out and about all day.

Sadly, it’s possible. Flu variants cycle seasonally and sometimes A is the more predominant strain within the community, while at other times B seems to be the one circulating more widely. But there are certainly times when both circulate. It’s not unheard of to contract both simultaneously, especially in certain environments like schools or in assisted living environments. There are also increasing reports of likely COVID and flu co-infections last spring. As for how concomitant infections happen, all it takes is to have contacted a contaminated surface then rubbed the face/nose/eyes. Imagine the hundreds of people touching public door handles or shopping carts that aren’t wiped down as an example and that people simply refuse to stay home if they only feel mildly ill. Then add that a hearty part of the public either gripes about wearing masks because blah blah blah their freedom and screw their neighbors, or they wear them like a chinstrap. Everybody thinks they should be the exception to the rule. And it’s putting others at unnecessary risk. If you’re skeptical, you could request retesting her to confirm. Best wishes for her recovery!

Same here. I tested positive for flu A before anyone had the COVID tests in the area. Thought maybe It was COVID but antibody test a couple months later was negative.
