If this is what our professionals in virus labs wear to avoid getting a virus.

Then why do we believe that these will actually do anything?

It’s not supposed to be like wearing a hazmat suit. It’s simply supposed to reduce the spread of the virus.

The mask-Nazis in government are ridiculous, but don’t take out your frustration on the validity of masks themselves because of their idiocy.

It’s not that big of a deal. Just put it on and do your part, while saying out loud...Coronavirus Stops With Me!!!!

This whole thing is election interference. Whoever thinks otherwise is mildly retarded.

After November this whole thing will float away like a droplet in the wind.

Very few countries are still locked doww, fwiw. Virus may be real, but no more deadly than TB.

I'm loving all these "Do you know this person?" annoucements and posts of FB for people commiting credit card fraud and stealing from stores. The show a pic from the security cam, and the perpetrators have masks on. Law of unintended consequences.

When government has no answers but wants to make people believe that they are doing something about a problem, they do shite like masks. They know good and damn well that it’s pretty much useless, but if they don’t demonstrate that they are doing something, they know they will be seen as ineffectual, and open themselves up to criticism from their political opponents. Business and industry fears litigation, and so they must do something as well or get sued, or perhaps cast in a bad light for not caring about people’s lives. The scientific community is just going along with what everyone else if saying because standing out from the crowd means consequences.

The civilian population has had fear driven in their heads at this point, and so not only is compliant but keeps their fellow civilians in check by ridiculing them for not caring if they aren’t masked up, and so we all get just a little weirder and less attached to real normality at every passing day. Most are just rule followers though, and just trying to get through another day. They wear them when they have to, and don’t when the option presents itself to not wear them.

Some in society are now giddy with their new normals of not shaking hands, masking up, and not socializing, because they were simply weird AF Introverts to begin with. This may sit well with millennials who’ve been raised to be significantly less social, but it does not sit well with people in my generation who were raised to be very social creatures.

I'm vacationing and visiting historical sites. We're in Philidelphia and were walking around without a mask outside on the street. Some old man almost across the street in a mask muttered something about us being assholes for not wearing masks.

My body, my choice right? Apparently not.
These folks act like this is ebolaidsplague.

If these folks are so terrified they need to stay at home.
