Finally finished Peace Talks

I found it very good. I get that people are upset that it ends mid story, but that is to be expected. No I don't like the money grab, but it is what it is.

The story is very compelling, and the setups are good. I do take issue with the change in character with one of the major players (won't name names due to spoilers), because it felt out of character to me. Maybe I am missing something from the past books? My take on it is that I will accept it, but it felt forced in inauthentic.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

exactly my issue with this as well. it certainly could be explained by Nemesis (not a spoiler, as this was never even approached in this book), but it doesn't feel that way

This is something he has done throughout all of his books. It's necessary, because it's expecting a lot for people to remember everything from previous reads, especially given we are on book 16 and soon 17 along with a handfull of external short stories.

I just "reread" all of the series via audiobooks, so I came into this with a fresh knowledge base. Prior to this I needed those memory nuggets in the books.

I have a couple hours of the Peace Talks audio left. It's my first time listening to a dresden audio. I don't hate it, but I am now convinced that switching to audio at book 16 is not the brightest idea.

Don't want to give an opinion on the book until I finish.

There is a massive difference between what he's done in previous books, which was a necessary recap, and this book, where he recycled almost entire conversations and themes for half the book.

I'm hoping nemesis is involved in certain characters actions as well, cause otherwise their actions are pretty nonsensical.

The audiobook was poorly edited. That being said, I found PT to be disappointing considering the years between it and Skin Game.

I'm waiting for Battle Ground before I listen to Peace Talks.

I considered doing this, but I ultimately couldn't wait. My impatience won the day.

I feel as if I am in the minority, but I enjoyed this and am glad I read it when I did. Yes there is one major issue I believe we all share (won't spoil for you), but outside of that I found it to be a good book.
