Any suggestions on where to go, interested in hiking, possible horseback riding, maybe rafting. Couldn’t imagine Montana being locked down in August. Would like to stay in a cabin or air B&B that is remote. Been working with covid in the hospital and need an escape

Preciate any info!

We are going in September and plan to do Glacier National Park and base from Whitefish. I think Glacier would be worth your time!

Hearing that some of the park will be closed during that time still.

Fly into Bozeman and go to big sky. Rafting there, hiking, could mountain bike at the ski resort if open. I couldn’t suggest a remote cabin, but I’ve stayed at the ski resort in big sky and it was nice (not isolated though).

If you make it to Glacier, check to see if Grinnell Glacier Trail is open. Worth the hike.

Preciate it, I was looking at Glacier but I read where some of the park is still closed. Apparently native tribes own some of the rights to entrances and have part of the park closed? Don’t really want to deal with the Federal regulations of a national park, if I can get away from it

Just spent the last couple hours researching Big Sky, it looks great. Thanks

If you are interested in Yellowstone, you can be there in a couple of hours or so from big sky too. It’s a beautiful area and I enjoyed the time I spent there.

Check out Beehive Basin Trail. It's about 7 miles. 3.5 to the top and back but the top is amazing.

If you go and get to the lake at the top, there's one last climb behind it for amazing views.

I lived and worked in that area. Big Sky will give you a sense of escape. And you do have easy access to hiking, mountain biking, and rafting.

If doing big sky check out Lone Mountain Ranch. If you don't want to stay there, at least go for a drink or two in their bar followed by supper. Their bar is awesome and hell of a whiskey selection.

How hard is it to visit Glacier based out of Whitefish? Do you really need to be in the park? Or out of Columbia Falls?
