Anyone ever bass fish the main river while the water is high in Louisiana. Specifically north of Baton Rouge. If so what should I be looking for as far as general areas to fish. I don’t need specific locations, just a general description, I can narrow down locations with google if it worth the effort.
Thanks in advance.

Back when the bass were spawning, you could fish the levee banks...from boat...usually up against good green grass growing on the levees
Also, culverts in and around roads inside the levees are good spots.
They well begin to expose themselves as the river falls

I bass fish a river much smaller than the Mississippi.
The key for me is shade. If i find a spot of shade I usually find a fish.
Go to a sidearm cast to get under trees.

Thanks man! I’m just looking for some new water to fish. I’m familiar with a lot of areas in south Louisiana but haven’t ventured out much more than that.
