Chicago Tribune Beer Writer Ranks 18 Low-Cal Craft Beers

This low-cal trend in beer isn't going anywhere anytime soon and I've been waiting for a fairly comprehensive review.

Josh Noel, who is a fairly well known beer writer with the Chicago Tribune, finally did a respectable job of one.

He's pretty spot-on with the ones that I've had save 1; Highlights:

Abita Hop 99 - Definitely light, but you get the hops and can crush them.

Oskar Blues One-Y - Best low-cal IPA I've actually had. Drink this regularly now.

Goose Island So-Lo - It's absolutely horrible.

Lagunitas Daytime IPA - I do tend to disagree here. This one tastes like water and he said it's 'Not Bad'.

Agreed. This is not good.


Good People JUCO is by far my favorite all day IPA. Unfortunately, it's seasonal and hard to find.
