Can Someone clarify the whole, "claiming championships that weren't played" thing?

I know how Wikipedia works, how anyone can update the sites different, profiles ,for lack of a better term.
But, I seem to remember it going beyond that recently.
I'm not talking bout the beta ucf move. So we can leave there bitch asses out of this.
I hate there posters on the sec rant. They also tried to take joey b out of the game, in a dirty way.

What are you not getting? I'm asking if there are schools seriously claiming championships after the sports stopped?

I'd say let bamas slide, along with the 1908 Lsu title. Lsu was actually named national champions by the National Championship foundation or whatever there called. Lsu decides not to claim it. Why the frick not, I have no idea
