I’m wary of Ruggs. I like the speed and athleticism, but he was a clear number 3 option on his college team.
I know those top two are good, but they had nearly twice the number of targets and catches.
And I keep thinking of John Ross and what he has done through three seasons.

But I guess late first is okay for what would be a number two receiver for the Saints. That speed is tempting.

Maybe so, but in Alabama's WR corps, literally anyone can go off bc they were so loaded. It wasn't a typical situation.

You can just as easily throw out a Tyreek Hill comp in terms of pure athleticism and speed.

FWIW, I don't think he's available where we are picking anyway, but his skill set is definitely what the Saints need. I could make a case for Lamb too since he's such a good YAC guy, which could help Brees' declining arm strength.

Somebody had to be, there were 4 first round receivers in that group. There's only one football but the efficiency is there. Ruggs had 1 drop last year, and scored 25 touchdowns in 100 career touches. He's not really close to the type of player Ross was. Ruggs is a physical players and pairs that speed with a 42" vert that translated to winning jump balls on the football field. I get the trepidation in that he was the "#3" guy, but you have to look at that through the perspective of there are 4 first round picks there. I don't think there's a team in the country, college or pro, that would say no to having Jaylen Waddle next season and he was the #4 guy

This is what I think as well - he doesn't look lean like John Ross - he's thicker especially in the lower body which will help him win at the LOS and coming out of breaks. Ross is Desean Jackson in stature, Ruggs like a taller Tyreek.

Ruggs' strength is underrated for sure. My biggest concern is obvious the college scheme and surrounding talent that had him unchallenged and running free a lot of the time.
