Suggestions on an easy stay after arriving into YYC at 9:30 in the evening so we can make the drive to Banff when the sun is up. Thanks!

There is a Delta and a nice Marriott right there at the terminal. The Marriott is part of the new extension and has a sports bar downstairs with surprisingly good food.

I would also leave for Banff before the sun comes up, it’s pretty amazing how many people get there early on to enjoy everything that’s out there. There are very small parking lots full at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, so if you’re not there before 7 AM you can forget about parking anywhere close.
Tip: there is a visitors center on the way that you can get your park pass. Stop there and buy it and you won’t have to get it as you’re entering the park. The lines get really long at those stations and you will be able to drive right past all that traffic if you already have your park pass purchased.

I stayed at a Hyatt Place near the airport. Had a good breakfast In the lobby and headed out to Banff. Canmore is a nice stop on the way to Banff.
