I've got two raised planter beds that are 8'x16' each. when should I plant some onions, mustard greens, etc? What else should I plant in addition to these?

Toms, garlic, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, and lettuce are good ones to grow in the fall. I love fall crops. Less pest to deal with

To that list add:

Swiss Chard
Collard/Mustard/Turnip Greens
Spinach
Brussel Sprouts
Beets
Kohlrabi
Onions
Also a lot of herbs really like cool/cold weather that don't do well in the summer months.

I'm holding off until next week putting in my leaf lettuce, Swiss Chard, Kale, Spinach since it is still pretty warm in the N.O. area and most of those plants don't like heat when just breaking ground.
