Did you watch the Doc? Maybe it was for tv but seemed pretty genuine, but it seemed pretty clear to me that Rodman never knew his dad and his mom had a hard time raising him. Basically he grew up with no parents he loved.

I can very easily see someone in that situation having a hard time understanding how to love a kid. He even said in the doc multiple times he didn’t know how to love them but had some feelings for them he just didn’t understand.

Yeah, I watched it, and your theory about how Dennis was raised affecting his ability to be a dad makes sense. I just can't imagine it since I wasn't raised like Dennis was.

It was good to see Dennis' daughter appear to break that cycle and be there for her kids.

IMO, Rodman's self-esteem is so low that he is afraid to love his kids for fear he will be viewed as not good enough. Very sad.
