Remember that Key played 3-4 edge which called for DE and OLB duties. Many of us complained when Key was asked to drop back in coverage instead of rushing the passer. In a 3-4 set you can have TWO edge rushers on both sides of the defensive front 7. Similar to what you see with the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts (especially in the Freeney and Mathis days). Aranda has been said to run his schemes to the strength of his personnel, so if Cherry and Chaisson are that good, they will be on the field at the same time.
