Played today. Greens had a big punch and were pretty bad but will be great in 2 or 3 weeks. Tee boxes were sorta uncut and badly rutted but they were level. Fairways were great but bunkers were terrible. Shot 82 from the golds. To me, the course plays a bit shorter than the yardages indicate. If you are an 8 GHIN or better play it from the black tees IMO. Beautiful day for golf.

You can raise that 8 to a 12/13/14, assuming you hit it decent off the tee. Moving up a tee doesn't give you much on any of the par 5s or par 4s. Just brings in more trouble.

Hell, I played 36 holes one afternoon, all on the front. Played it from the tips, members, seniors, and ladies and was within a shot or two every round.

I played there Sunday. With the greens punched it is what it is, but the state of the bunkers is unforgivable. Every one on the course is like hitting off concrete.

I played from the golds as well. The course isn't long at all. I shot 88 with 5 3 putts.

You shot an 88 while playing out of every bunker on the course? That is a hell of a round.

You are going to have that at most Louisiana public golf courses designed from late 90s till about 5 or 10 years ago when people woke up and realized how much rain we get, how expensive sand it and how poor people are in this state.

Idk I have played at Carter a good bit over the past 5 years and last weekend was the worse shape I have ever seen the bunkers in by a lot.
