Should I paint vent covers the same color as my light fixtures?

All my light fixtures, ceiling fan, plumbing fixtures and outlet covers are a dark bronze finish. My crown molding and base boards are a dark finish as well. My vent covers are white though. I am contemplating using a metal look paint to paint them so they have the same look at my fixtures. Has anyone here done this? Thoughts?

I would leave them the color of the ceiling, but what the hell.

Vent covers as in for the A/C?

Im not sure that i'd want that. Light fixtures are normally situated in a way that they look like they belong there. A/C vents being dark colored will stick out like a sore thumb in my opinion.

They kind of stick out now being that they are white and all the trim is dark. I thought if I painted them they would like they were the same type of metal as my outlet and light switch covers.

I would paint them the same color of what it is attached too.

If attacked to the ceiling and your ceiling is white, I'd go white.

If you already prefer dark trim and outlet/switch covers, you'd probably like the look of the vent covers dark as well.

I'd try painting the existing ones in one room and if it looks bad, just replace with new white ones.

If it looks good, decorative ones similar to this floor register might look cool (assuming they exist for ceilings)

Ugh, no. If the vent covers are on walls or ceilings, they should be painted the same color as those walls/ceilings. Light fixtures are decorative elements, not functional necessities. I also dislike decorative switch plate and outlet covers....those should be unobtrusive as possible, painted or selected to match the wall colors.

Too many small, high-contrast "decorative" details clutter up a room.

It's not my personal taste either, but assuming he already has the darker outlet/switch covers, I'd guess the decor is more simple to make up for it. I think it could actually look cool in an older home.
