Was with my wife walking to a restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine (one of the few times I was not wearing something LSU) and saw Dale eating an ice Creme comb walking towards me. I had a wonderful talk with him. He gave me his business card and told me to call and come to visit anytime I was in BR. Wonderful man.

A few years ago I walked my two dogs every day for an afternoon walk, usually around the same time of day. Many times, when we reached our turnaround point to head home, I'd see Coach Brown at the same location. We both apparently kept the same walking schedule. We never said anything to each other. However, one day, we passed each other again during our walk. Coach Brown leaned down to look at my two dogs enjoying their walk. He had a big smile on his face, looked up at me and said, "You're very loyal!" I smiled and thanked him and we continued on our walks as we passed each other.

Many years ago there was a kid where I lived who was restricted to a wheel chair his entire life.
Man, when I started reading this I thought you were going to say Dale Brown touched him and the kid got up and started walking !!!!!
Still, a great story and one of many I have heard about him. I wrote him a letter once and got a very nice response as well. Thank you sharing your sort.

Coach Dale Brown is someone I will never forget. It was a blessing to have him in Louisiana. He could give Dale Carnegie lessons on life. Being positive just seemed to come naturally for him. Such a thoughtful and likable person and leader. I will always love coach Brown.

The man personally resurrected basketball at LSU.
