No! John Brady?! Why are you so upset about John Brady? It’s not like he left LSU and won a ton of NBA titles, or NCAA titles, for that matter. He was mediocre at best. LSU is a football school and will always have trouble getting top tier basketball coaches. Especially if Aleeva stays on board for much longer.

It was the right move, Brady alienated almost every level of the program from fans, media, players, alumni his own coaches and high school coaches.

He wasn't going to recover from his last two years, he had burned too many bridges.

I always thought he could coach but everything else he allowed to fester had compromised that too much to overcome by the end.

Everybody? Wrong!
Some fans supported the Brady steam roller until the end.

Love skip but money grubbing started with skip too. Has totally changed the LSU experience.

Including holding out for camp money (and other qualifiers) that kept better candidates from accepting the gig as his successor and having to settle for Smoke.

Let Saban leave Let pat Henry leave The new Alex box is a joke The west side stadium expansion was a joke Replaced pokey Chatman with a broomstick Fired John Brady with no respectable name in mind HIRED SMOKE LAVAL

[1] He won 5 national championships at LSU.
[2] The coaches he hires went on to win 2 other National Championship.
[3]Pokey left him with no choice...and no you can not replace a GOAT coach this easily, but he did try with Van Chancellor.
[4] There was no amount of money that would have kept Saban at LSU. He wanted to be a NFL head coach....at which he was miserable failure.
[5] True he hired Smoke Laval, but more than made it up by hiring Paul Manieri.
[6] I would take Skip any day over the man who replaced him.

It was a stupid move, and I got banned from here multiple times for saying it back in the day.

I was right, and 99% of the people who were here 10+ years ago were a bunch of idiots who were 100% wrong, and I’ll gloat about it til the day I die.

Compare the results under ?Brady while dealing with draconian sanctions to the 10 years since he was fired with no encumberances.

Best I can do for now:

LSU under Brady: 192-139 (.580); 74-93 (.443)
LSU after Brady: 187-191 (.537); 80-102 (.440)

As dumb as it was to fire Brady, LSU made a much dumber firing eight years later.
