2 x Asus RT-AC5300's or 2 Unifi Pros/NanoHD's in Home Network

This board gets filled with router questions, so I thought of one more.
If price were the same or slightly less for the 5300's in my case, which would you choose? I already have a suitable poe switch for the unifi ap's.
Streaming, no gaming, web conferencing for work(hard lined most of the time), numerous devices across the board, not much downloading. I will need a few outdoor APs in about two years once a house build/reno is finalized in new location, so unifi is a plus there.
I think a few guys are using the AiMesh here. Any faults? I know of the other systems, but these seem to be the ones gravitating towards me. Cheap 5300's for asus and option of outdoor ap's for unifi

I'd get the Asus RT-AC5300s. They have twice the spatial streams of the UniFi Nano HDs.
There are going to be new WiFi standards rolling out in the next couple of years. So, don't make a decision now about what you're going to need in two years.

Can the Asus be configured as an access point? Also, can your switch send out 24V POE and not 48? the Ubiq need 24.

Firmware was flakey for awhile but they've stabilized it.
I'm a huge fan. I have 3; 86u (primary) and a 68u and 68p hard wired.
It's blindingly fast and now that I don't have to reboot the damn things every couple days I'm very happy.
You can't beat having fully tricked out routers with fast processors and lots of ram as satellites. Genius move by Asus to repurpose existing hardware.
I like how it's a one click process from the Android app to update the firmware across all routers.
