Just reading up on him and it seems like he is all UGA, but says LSU will always have a place in his heart. For those of you who follow recruiting closer than I do, do we have any sort of chance?

He and Raydarious Jones will be here for their final OV's. All hands on deck for both and let the chips fall where they may.

Yes. He will be taking an Official in December with his teammate Raydarius Jones.

Well apparently a good engineering program is very important to Nakobe. LSU has that going for itself. LSU and A&M probably have the best engineering programs in the SEC.

a&m and uf man. lsu barely gets inside the top 100 engineering programs and tops out at 50th or so with cheme.

a&m is top 10/15 and uf is top 40ish.

How does LSU's engineering program compare to UGA, Ole Miss, and Florida St?

According to U.S. News

LSU - 97
UGA - 112
FSU - 116
Ole Miss - not ranked.

Here is a interesting point. In order to call your college an "engineering" school the school must be ABET accredited. Colleges can meet their accreditation in 2, 4, and 6 years reevaluation increments based on program rigor. The three Louisiana engineering schools I'm familiar with are LSU, UNO and Tulane. Tulane is required a reevaluation every 2 years. LSU every 4. And UNO every 6. That surprised me.

Lmao if y’all think Dean is selecting a school based off engineering programs. They all will provide a degree....name me a job that weeds out candidates based off colleges? As a new grad maybe it matters, maybe.

Dean is a sure fire nfler before he does engineering work.

Alma mater matters for research and networking.

It's about 5-10% of Nakobe's equation IMO. Higher for his parents.

The Gumps think they are closing in on everyone. Hell half of them are still convinced Leonard Fournette is coming there.

Latest update I've seen on Dean. It goes into detail about his relationship with his mom and the factors leading up to his decision. She mentions she likes LSU's academics but doesn't like the crime in the surrounding area. In the article he states it's a good possibility she will move to whichever school he decides to go to.

We can get past that. We’ll set her up somewhere nice, at least I’d hope we’d offer that situation if he said he wanted to come here

A&M yes.

LSU not so much.

They have 6 other SEC schools ahead of LSU ranked in US News & WR undergrad engineering school rankings. And that is a generally accepted good ranking system.

And I say all this as an engineering grad from LSU.

Not sure how much any of this matters in relation to Dean. How many LSU football players have you seen walk out with an engineering degree? I quit TGBFTL (Drum Line) after my freshman year to focus on studies, and that is NOWHERE NEAR the rigors of playing SEC football (with or without top notch academic tutors).

Watched them once in reg season and last weekend in first round of playoffs. Going tonight as well. My takeaways: great read and intuition, sheds blocks with ease and is always around the ball. Goes w/o saying this is against HS competition but he's also the focus of the offense as well. Heard him speak at an event before the season started and he's got someone that's keeping him grounded. Wherever he ends up going to college, it won't be a hasty/emotional decision for sure.

Jones is athletic and elusive; has a pretty live arm-mechanics aren't great though which is fine since i doubt he plays qb in college. He's lean, and that's being kind. Could be helluva corner with about 20 lbs.

I expect a low scoring game tonight and starkville could very well pull the upset. It became very obvious after the first round which district was more talented.
