Had a cousin recently undergo surgery to clean calcium deposits from an elbow joint. Anyone heard of this? Any non-surgical diet or physical remedies other than surgery? Since ive gone to mostly carnivore diet and continued in crossfit, all minor pains such as this have dissipated. Im skeptical that surgery was necessary.

I’ve had it along with rotator cuff repair and bursa sac removal.

First surgery arm froze up. Had to redo it after 5 weeks of PT that couldn’t break it free.

After second surgery, Had to spend 8 hours a day in a passive motion chair for 4 weeks. Also had pt 3 days a week. It worked the second time. No problems 4 years later.

For months I thought I had made the worst mistake in having the first surgery.

Sounds rough. What caused it? Would you do it again ie have the surgery as the solution?

Calcific tendinitis is not necessarily mild pain/ache. It can severely limit use of the extremity. It means there is calcium buildup(bone) where there shouldn’t be- rubbing on moving parts in a joint.
