I have a 220 v-bay which is the older half cap version of the pure bay. I'm wanting to put a new prop on it.

what motor are you running? what is your current max rpms and prop?
My frontier (same LOA, beam and weight as a 2200 PB) with an I4 200 yammy turns a 19p yamaha reliance. I worked it down to an 18 pitch. Turns 6000 rpms and 50-53 mph depending on load.

My apologies, i have a 225 vmax 2-stroke. Running about 50 mph at 5000 rpm.

Not knowing what prop diameter and pitch you are turning now id say yamaha has good props so find the prop they made for that motor. however yamaha props are on low supply right now so good luck. Either way you need more rpms (either 5500 or 6000 i forget what the vmax says is max) so drop a pitch or two.

check performance bulletins on yamaha's website for input as well, look at comparably weighted boats.
