Not sure if mentioned here!

A federal judge in Northern California has declined a request from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to block the Trump administration’s decision to withhold a law enforcement grant to the state as part of its crackdown on states and jurisdictions that protect illegal immigrants.
Becerra asked for a preliminary injunction against the Trump administration's decision, but Judge William Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled against taking that step.

I don't really understand why this is an appropriate punishment.
Why punish everyone in the state even if they don't support the state's decision to not comply with regulations.
Why don't they just arrest the decision makers who don't comply.

Because you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.

Because elections have consequences.

Who would take their place and how would they be selected? If it was just the normal pecking order, and they followed the policies of the ones removed...you're back to square one. The msm would love the new narrative of "Trump is taking over states by removing anyone who refuses him!!!"

They're going to get slapped upside the head with the 2012 Arizona SCOTUS ruling

Cali is all Dole and Sunkist and Foster Farms outside of Tech.
The Cali reps are paid good money by these AG corps to keep illegal labor around.
It's all politics...most of the lettuce everyone eats comes from Cali and the state uses tons of illegal immigrants and relies on them to pick that lettuce.
California will always resist any efforts to curtail the AG industry...as its a huge part of the economy.

Thats probably true, but kinda of old news, imo. Now I think it's all about votes.

That true but it goes way deeper. There are more Hispanics than Whites in Cali right now and the majority of Hispanics are against the enforcement. There is also no middle class and the Whites who have cash lllllooovveee the cheap labor they get from Hispanic workers. They have Hispanics doing their yards, cleaning their homes and literally raising their kids. Without that cheap labor the White liberals would have to do it themselves or hire Blacks which they would rather die than do.

Why are the decision makers punishing the state citizens by not complying to the rules.
Blaming Trump for punishing the people would be the same as when I was a kid my parents grounding me for doing something stupid and me blaming them for me being grounded. Wrong. It’s my fault I got grounded my parents just laid down the law.
This is like that. It’s not trumps fault they will be punished. It’s the decision makers fault for not complying with the rules.
