Can a new asphalt roof be claimed on this years tax return???

Have a trip to the Tax people tommorrow just wanted to ask if anyone may know this? I know the tax person could probably help answer but wanted to ask before. Did a little research on it but it mostly dealt with solar panels on roof.

Is that new asphalt roof energy efficient? If not, then no.
Home improvements must be energy efficient for you to be able to see any tax benefits. Last year, I re insulated my attic with $600 of insulation. I was able to write that off my taxes.
