There is much I believe to be true and mentioned several of them myself.

I knew the media, Clinton, DNC were spotlighting Trump early. I thought of him as a novelty myself and knew Dems felt he was an easy out.

He surprised many of us. I mainly ended up voting for him because I did not want Hillary and I didn't want Hillary picking a Supreme Court justice.

I can believe the rest because they are all criminals.

Yeah, this was not predicted. Everyone knew Hillary was the Democratic candidate, and most people felt like there would be some tendency for the vote to go Republican after 8 yrs Dem.

I thought Obamacare was going to be the driving factor, and people would sway back to the center (towards the Right) after that got shoved down our throats.

I would have guessed Rubio would have emerged as the guy, thought Trump was just bored and giving us a circus act by running.
I NEVER would have made the Trump=Populist connection in a million years. But the dude is clearly smarter than most of us thought, and whether he believed it then or not, it got him lightning in a bottle.
There was no Russian collusion, he wasn't a foreign plant. If anything, he was a CNN/Leftist Media puppet, meant to discredit the Republicans, and he cut the strings on them and became their worst nightmare.

And now, despite his ruthless business history, I think that as an outsider that now sees behind the curtain, he's legitimately appalled by the depth of the corruption he's found.
I think he's old enough that he doesn't truly fear the backlash he will get, and he's comfortable that his family is well-enough established in the business fields that they are safe, so he's going balls-out to address some things.
