Will a Briles offense work in the SEC?

Just playing devil's advocate here
I am on board with him, I think he would bring energy and excitement...but will it work in this league? It's a fair question
What seams to work in the SEC is solid run game and balanced attack with occasional up tempo to tire a defense on the ropes
Bama as an example (since they seem to play for a national title every other year) is a team that you can not allow to make you one dimensional...(Les never learned this, he thought we could out will a team like Bama) You have to make them play the whole field... Clemson last year beat them with great zone read QB play, play action,-running under pressure and extending drives, mixed with good running attack and great down field passing
it's not rocket science but you have to the QB to pull it off and you have to be willing to let him make mistakes
for years, LSU has tried to hide their QB because they either didn't have the arm or accuracy or legs...ETling did pretty decent job with ball security...
Mett was the best arm we've had since JR (My gosh that was a long time ago)...and it was fun to watch that ball come off his hand effortlessly for 35 yard strikes...
Let's unpack Briles offense

Did you watch their offenses at Baylor? They were a heavy run team, they just lined up in the spread.

Will the D be able to handle it? Especially now that aranda is getting paid so much.
Briles is a good hire for whomever is balsy enough to pull the trigger, but I do get the concern. I just dont think it's an SEC issue as much as how it will fit in how lsu historically has been. Also the type of players yall typically get.

Just like when this board told me Meyer’s offense wouldn’t work in the SEC.

With a good o line just about any big 12 offense will work. See oklahoma this year or 2012 a&m. Great o line play from both teams

I definitely agree that many said that UM offense wouldn’t work in the SEC but there is also a difference between UM offense and KB...UM offense is more power spread vs what KB does which is spread with more inside zone running which is similar to what Kevin Sumlin ran at aTm and couldn’t work in the SEC...I’ve said it a 1000x’s we need to bring in a Coordinator that runs the power spread... fwiw Alabama even has some form of the power spread in their offense...I would love to have Hugh Freeze but I’m sure that’s not a possibility...
