This will be used in my yard just to see what animals are passing thru.
Not looking to spend a lot, but want a decent cam.
I am in Rural Central Illinois (Temp right now is 3 degrees with snow) dont know if that matters for recommendation.
TIA

I bought a moultree A series this year on sale for 90ish and it's been great. Was really impressed with night pic quality. I've used cheaper ones from Walmart before that do just fine, but night pics weren't as great.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I know Moultrie is good.
Will they say on the packaging, operating weather recommendations?

I've had about 10 and moultrie has served me best. Stealth cam wasn't bad either.
I've bought 3 WGIs and had to take everyone back to the store.
I think they are all made to withstand most reasonable weather conditions. Have never seen anything on the packaging about that.

Have had a bunch of cameras the last 2 years:
Stealthcam42- great pictures, fast trigger but not sensitive at all (worst of the bunch), worst waterproofing of all; Bought 6 of them, 2 have failed within 18 months. Bottom of my list but were cheap on amazon in september, and absolutely no flash and blend in the best with no lens glare from the sun to give it away
Cuddeback long range IR- very fast trigger, good (not great) night pictures, seems indestructible but had one fail on a hot, humid night- poacher literally camped in front of it at 50 feet for 4 hours and it never triggered once. No failures yet of the 4- GREAT cold weather camera, lousy trigger if hot/humid. Very bright flash
Moultrie M40- have 4 of these out. No complaints so far- got a felon trespassing with a rifle with one of these. Nice and small. Reliable trigger- used these to replace the cuddeback where the poacher was. Low glow- supposed to be no glow. Currently my favorite camera
Bushnell 12 mp trophy cam - was on closeout- got 2. Grainy pictures. Very fast trigger. No complaints other than its brown color. Probably the most sensitive trigger of the bunch. Low glow but noticeable flash if staring at it

I bought two browning cameras last season and they have been great. I think they were $109 and have yet to change the batteries since last year and they take great pictures

I know everyone is hating on Wildgame, the only one imof theirs I have experience with is the 360 Crush Lightsout. I have really liked it. It is great for a foodplot or field. You put a t-post down in the center and mount the camera to it. When it is triggered to takes a picture in every direction in case some didn’t trigger it on the other sides. You get great coverage, good quality pictures, and a view of the whole field if anything is in it.
First season so I ant speak on longevity, but I have been impressed and like the concept.
