Just passed by the gun register at wallmarks and there was a 20 gauge Hatfield on sale for 198 bucks. Couldn't pass that up. Anyone here have any experience? Did I find a hidden gem or blow 2 Benjamin's?
They also have a 12 in stock. Waste 2 more?

They are decent entry level guns. It's heavy and not very cleanly built. You may need to file down a few burs to get it to cycle properly.

First review, didn't get to shoot a duck but the gun shot low brass no problem.

Shooting low brass at ducks?

Yes, all my life. I know a gun range. Why?

Apologies. I didn't even realize they made low brass steel. Back in the day I've used low brass lead for ducks, but steel is a different story. It just doesn't flatten out like lead does.

Okay, after a couple of rabbit hunts, here is my review.
My 20 gauge is fricking awesome. I killed 5 rabbits and a coon. The gun cycled every shot I have put through it so far. Went through 2 boxes shooting junk and rabbits
My dad also purchased one, it started throwing the 3rd shell into the reservoir under the chamber while he was walking. Went with 2 shells and no problems. Guess he has a 2 shotter!??

Im not familiar with the action on the Hatfield, but on some guns it's no problem for the shell to sit below the chamber and on the carrier.
With Stoegers for instance you can actually load a 4th shell into this position while having a round chambered and two in the magazine tube.
