Wondering if I should get a SSB bar or a deadlift bar.

Just depends on what you think you'll benefit from. Do you compete? If so what federation?

I've been wanting a SSB. Once I can justify it, I'm getting one. I think there's a lot work you can do with the ssb opposed to a deadlift bar. The deadlift bar would just be nice to have.

I'm not sure on what federation yet. I haven't looked. I was kinda thinking the same thing. Deadlift bar would just be nice as it didn't really develop anything while the SSB does. I could be wrong though and want advice.

USAPL uses a stiff bar for meets. Most of the others around here will use a deadlift bar. Now, you can do more on a deadlift bar, so it could help build that number. Just if a stiff bar is going to get used in comp, you'd need to switch 2-3 weeks before, to get motor patterns back. I've used one before and liked it. I just don't see the benefit until around the 600lb mark. I don't see much whip with 500lbs.

My plan was to reach at least 600 then get one.
