Now in regards to why pull up this info? And why the data|wall of text assault on your eyes to try to read this post. The basic reason I assembled all this here would be to lay out a very basic premise that I find quite remarkable. Inspired by ESPN's clickbait article which I didn't click but followed through on the ST thread.
On a weekly basis Drew Brees through stat production basically faced of head to head with a league MVP canidate if not the front runner at the QB position in 2015.
Saints D was also responsible for giving up the 2nd most rushing yards in the league...While Drew's supporting cast was only 24th in rushing yards.
Even still Drew went 7-8. 5 of those 8 contests came in games decided by 1 possession. Like the Tennessee OT game where Drew drove into comfortable FG range and we should have won in regulation.
Those 5 also do not inlude the opener at Arizona where the game was still 1 possession until the 1;33 mark in the 4th.
I digress. My point is it is so easy to get wrapped up in everything that is wrong with the Saints and the disappointments of some of these seasons. However what Drew does even in futile efforts should be fully recognized by us since the national media won't. Stats are stats but even in their proper context Drew just had not only one of his best seasons but one of the best by any QB.
With no defense, little running game, along with a cast of misfit receivers most not even drafted, and with a 35 year old career backup TE...Drew had this hoopty within sniffing distance of a much greater season.

shite is fricking pitiful and frustrating as a fan seeing these other teams find good defensive players like it's nothing.
For the record I like Allen he is aggressive, he can develop this down the road. But I have little faith in him here, he is a SP guy for one (bad sign), my patience is running thin (probably on 0 at this point) Brees is almost gone, again the shite is very frustrating.
When we do have a good player they are only average compared to actual pro bowl caliber players. Smith and Jordan.
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I have 0 faith we will ever have a defense of the caliber of these playoff teams or even any consistently good unit. Just impossible under this regime

The author of said article suggested something to the effect of "disregard the bounty punishments"
Considering that team was 13-3, had 3 straight playoff berths, and had unprecedented penalties imposed on it by the league that article has no credibility in terms of overall accountability on the matter.
In context of 1 season was my point.
His effort in 2015 was wasted.
2012 was practically deleted by the league that is on them.
