Great great movie.

Favreau really went back to his Swingers roots and wrote a really touching script that came from his heart and pulled it off perfectly.

A genuine feel good movie for the whole family with subtle performances and some fantastic music.

Touches on midlife crisis, father and son relationships, culture of critics, the good and bad of today's instant social networking, love of food, music, and culture, and takes you on an awesome road trip to bring them all together (even includes a nice love letter to New Orleans for those of us who don't live in LA anymore and can't get back as much as we'd like).

Wife and I both smiled ear to ear the entire time.

Highly recommended

Saw it when it came out a couple of months ago. I'm stunned that it's still in theaters here.

I'd heard about it on the Nerdist podcast.

Whoa there, fella. It was solid, and certainly a feel good flick. Definitely had some nice food shots, and the NOLA feature was money.

Great great is overstating it a little bit. It's worth a watch, but we're not talking GOAT status here.

I didn't say GOAT. But it is a great movie.

Is it the best movie I've ever seen? No. Will it go down as a classic film studied in film classes? Nah. Win Best Picture? No, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see it snag a Screenplay nomination, although movies released this early are often not recognized 6 months from now when nominations come out.

But I walked out of the theater completely satisfied and filled with a joy that all movies should strive to elicit from a viewer. I texted several of my friends that are movie buffs and told them to see it. I started a thread here, which brought several posters in agreement saying it was one of their favorite movies of the year.

It's at 88% critics and 89% audience on RT.

It's a great movie. Not GOAT. Great. In my opinion, of course.

But "Worth a watch" is certainty understating it quite a bit imo.

But way to be contrarian

Be careful about proclaiming anything not named Edge of Tomorrow the GOAT around here.

It's certainly not a 22 Jump Street comedy, but you will definitely laugh.

It's also not 12 Years a Slave drama, but it tugs at your heartstrings about a guy in a midlife crisis trying to find the magic that is missing from his life and to truly connect with his young son.

Mostly, it feels like a feel good road trip movie.

It feels very much like Favreau's companion piece to Swingers imo, just at a different stage of life. It is very real, yet relaxed, with ultimately an extremely optimistic and upbeat feel that leaves you feeling good walking out of the theater.

If you're into that kind of thing
