I know there are some reasonable Rockets fans on the board and I'm wondering what y'all think here.

Rumor floating around that there's a possible deal in the works to send the Pels' Ryan Anderson over to the Rockets for Omer Asik.

Would you guys take that trade straight up, or would you be looking to get more out of the trade?

Why would New Orleans do that?

So they can move AD to the PF and upgrade from Robin Lopez. My understanding is that the Pelicans were the ones to initiate the discussions.

I know the autistic Rockets fans from other message boards we've been looking at over on Pels Talk have wanted a lot more out of the trade, but their opinion is worthless

I'm wondering if the more reasonable folk here think they need to get more than just Anderson for Asik

I'm gonna be honest and say I haven't seen Ryan Anderson play except for maybe 1 game when they played the Rockets.

Omer Asik is very solid. Fantastic on defense and rebounding. Locks down the paint. Always hustles. Will score about 10 per game on put backs and uncontested dunks.

I am very high on Asik.

If it wasn't for Asik, the Rockets would have sucked arse this year. He makes a huge difference out on the floor.

Pelicans talk says the Pelicans would need more than Asik, Rockets board says Rockets would need more than Anderson. I think a 1 for 1 swap would be pretty even. Aldridge just said on NBAtv that the Asik-Anderson deal won't happen.

Considering Howard and Anderson are friendly, and Asik said he didn't want to be a backup I wouldn't be so sure about that.

I've been back and forth on it a few times but I would be happy if it didn't happen

I dont want more than Asik, I just dont want to give up Anderson for a guy like Asik at all. Even if they add in a little extra, I will still hate losing a guy who can stretch the floor like Anderson plus he's a tremendous team leader.
