This league needs more Asians (break into that market), and another former starter at a big Premier League club would be great to have. (YEAH YEAH YEAH even though he played at United.)

Park Ji-sung is wanted by MLS chiefs to lead their attempts to break into the lucrative Asian market.

The former Manchester United midfielder is expected to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer.

Rangers chiefs will consider selling Park, who earns £70,000-per-week, as they look to lower their wage bill.

And the 32-year-old is set to be given an instant escape route out of Loftus Road, with a number of MLS clubs keen on the midfielder.

As well as Park's ability and experience, his superstar status in south-east Asia also appeals to the MLS as they look to expand the brand into the cash-rich Far East.

Early favorites are Toronto (coach Ryan Nelsen played at QPR just a few months ago) and Vancouver (national teammate Y.P. Lee is there), but some of the American clubs are reportedly trying to get bids together.

Toronto seems the most likely destination, followed by Vancouver.
