makes me wonder, if we'd both beaten UF last year, who goes to the title game? You beat us. We beat Bama. Bama beat you. I hated that situation in the Big 12. I laughed because Texas got fricked and whined like little babies but I felt bad for Tech. It's like MSU getting in a 3-way tie and going home. You just feel bad for the lil guys.

I don't wonder at all, I know who would have gotten that one

One reason I think the Big 12 got it right, though I think their method was not good, in 08 is OU had a better conference SOS than Texas. They had 1 or 2 different opponents and OU's had a better conference SOS. OU and TTU played the same North teams i think.

So not to be a homer, but in that scenario in 2012 in the SEC, IMO it should have been LSU because we played UF and USCe, You played UF and Mizzo and Bama played UT and Mizzo.

I think the SEC throws out the lowest ranked team and then goes head to head.

if that's the rule, I actually like it better than just highest ranked. But I do think using BCS ranking can be bullshite. I mean in a few years we play Oregon on the road. If we lose that game but then make it into a 3-way tie, we'd probably have a lower BCS rank because of the OOC loss.

I felt the same way about Stanford this year. They won the Pac and beat Oregon at Oregon. But they were lower ranked than Oregon heading into the bowls. The reason? They lost on the road to ND. A lot of people would have put Oregon into a 4-team playoff (if we'd had it) ahead of Stanford. If like Oregon, they'd played Ark St or Tn Tech instead of ND, then they would have been #3 in the BCS and a lock to a playoff. I just don't like any situation where teams are encouraged to play shite OOC schedules (and I say that fully aware that our OOC slate sucks arse).

Same thing happened in 2011 with Oregon and Stanford only in reverse. Only reason Oregon was ranked lower was they lost to LSU in Dallas. It's also why I don't like the idea of just taking the top 4 for the playoff. If there was a committe last year, they supposedly would have taken Stanford for that reason which gives me some hope.
