Sorry man I wish I would have seen this sooner. In that left hand turn, there is a trail that goes down the hill to the water. Not an ideal launch since you have to get your yak down the hill, but the only option. Besides that, what did you think of the spot?

the water looked great and seems like fish are in it. I was by myself and didnt want to get in a bind. I drove all the way down the little trail and its pretty high up that hill. Like I said Ill go back out there next weekend.

10/4 I should be good for next weekend. Sorry for steering you all the way out there for a dead end road. ....Coco, are you talking about launching next to the little bridge into LB?

Yes. Just drive off of the hwy and under the bridge, lots of people launch flat boats down there. Also, there is a launch on loggy bayou wma at the end of poole road. Its a sure enough launch, I have launched my boat there and it provides access to the bayou as well.

That's great info coco, really appreciate you sharing it. I am new to paddling around here, never traveled the small waters and launches. I will be in Bickham testing my pirogue out this week, then headed down 71 south this weekend with it.

Bayou d'orcheat over in minden is a great paddling river too. The launch is maybe 30 minutes east of shreveport and I you can really get into some white bass over there.

Y'all going out this weekend? It's pretty windy, but I'd be interested in going out there for a bit and scoping it out.

Just got back from that spot at lock 5. River was white capping, too cold and windy today. Kind of ruined my plan for today. Also drove down Poole Rd. to check it out, and that is a steeeep arse ramp they have down there.

I also drove out to Bishop Point this evening to check it out. Very nice looking, a few stumps but nothing major. It definitely looks like a good spot to paddle around if the river is calm.

I'm waiting til next weekend. Between the rain and the cold the weather has fricked up my kayaking for the past 3 weeks. It better not mess with next week because I drill the week after that and then it's turkey season.
