Yes! That's it! He's from Florida! Must be the next RJF!

Robinson is the next PP! Or Hatcher!

Rettig is the next Rick Clausen! Damnit!

I recall RJF being a big disappointment, so lets hope not. He had one good bowl game.

As far as a talent I'd love for him to be similar to RJF but in no other way. RJF is still hanging around in the NFL so the talent is there. That said, I don't think Bain is in RJF's league as a talent. RJF was a bit freakish in terms of talent at his size. That's no knock on Bain either because he's a very good talent. I can't really come up with a legit comparison for Bain as far as LSU kids go but he and Lawson are extremely similar and I look forward to seeing them develop. If we get 1 of the 2 to really blossom then this class will be a success at DT, given that Lacouture and Gilmore at least play close to their potential. Bain and Lawson have the talent level to be future NFLers if they develop. This DT class could be really special or complete bust if the extreme on either end happen. Lots of untapped potential with those 4 guys. If we get 2 good ones and maybe 1 solid depth contributor then we did good.

Not to be a stick in the mud but the Florida schools all cooled on this young fella. He played mostly OL all year.

We shall see though. Good luck to the kid.

Agree with the FL schools cooling but most of that was more schematic fit than anything else. He didn't fit as a DT at UF or Miami and FSU is loaded at DT. Those that wanted him on the OL knew they'd never get him. He wants to play DT. He's along way from being ready for DT at LSU but all the makings are there for him to be very good. He just has to be developed. It's kind of what we do at LSU. We take raw, high upside talents and make them early round draft picks. Kind of our calling card.
