Looking into starting another RPG. Played WoW for years. How do they compare? Can someone give me a run down on the game. TIA

Its amazing. I played wow for years too. Quit mmos for 3 years but gw2 sucked me back in. I enjoy the:

Massive environment
Dynamic combat (no tank/heal/dps trinity)
Challenging dungeons
extremely fun leveling "grind"
Outdoor, dynamic group events
Pvp
Crafting/auction house

Its a damn solid game

Check out metacritic.com...last I checked gw2 was #1 for all pc

Okay thanks a lot. How much is the game? Is it monthly like WoW?

no monthly fee

game cost like $50 or $60. I know it's really long, but you should check out the GW2 thread a few down from this one. there is a lot of babbling about guild stuff the latter half of the thread, but the first half or so is from beta onward and just people discussing it.

I am enjoying it a lot too. We have a semi active guild running right now.

No monthly fee, but you can pay $ for transactions in game if you WANT to spend extra.

I've def. Got my money's worth and haven't explored 50% of the world yet..and only done 1 dungeon.

If you liked levelin, pvp, 5 mans in wow ull love gw2

If u liked raiding in wow...well there is no raiding equivalent in gw2. Just outdoor dragon events. Endgame kinda lacking but there's enough content avail now I'm very content

We're pretty active.

Just need more scheduled events, imo. 50 members and always between 5-15 online is fine with me for now

Once I finish borderlands and deus ex I might have to try this game.

Its pretty fun. Not entirely all "fast paced" like I know you love, but, you can attempt to kill shite as fast as possible which I certainly enjoy doing.

Lot of story stuff, which I skip.

There is not much to do endgame.
Also there is no world pvp.
The game is extremely instanced.
Playing with friends is miserably difficult and time consuming.

Playing wow again. The new expansion is amazing. The game outside of 25 man raids is completely casual.
The only grind is leveling.

I've never had any difficulty playing with friends at all, and I've played it since pre-launch.
