ARLINGTON, Dec. 5th, 2010 – A Classic rivalry will be revived at the 75th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Louisiana State University accepted an invitation from the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic to represent the Southeastern Conference (SEC) against Texas A&M from the Big 12. A crowd of over 80,000 is expected when LSU faces the Aggies in the 50th meeting of the two storied programs.
“This was one of those years where everything really fell into place,” Tommy Bain, Chairman of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic said. “Once LSU accepted our invitation today, the Tigers took all the remaining tickets to make the 75th Classic a hard sellout. I can’t wait to see the atmosphere at Cowboys Stadium in primetime on January 7th.”

HEAD COACH LES MILES
“The AT&T Cotton Bowl is one of the all-time great college bowl games and to be able to participate in what is the 75th anniversary of this legendary game will be special for our team. I’ve been here before as a head coach so I know firsthand what a first-class bowl this is. The hospitality is second to none and the atmosphere is no different than if you were playing in the national championship game. I’m excited and I know that our players are excited about this opportunity. Texas A&M has an outstanding program and we are looking forward to renewing our longstanding rivalry with them."
“We are very excited about going to Cowboys Stadium for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Once it looked like we were out of the running for a BCS bowl game, we turned our attention to Dallas and getting into the Cotton Bowl. This is the bowl that our players and coaches wanted to play in. Dallas is a great city with a strong LSU following and to play in the 75th anniversary of the game will be something special. We have sold every ticket that we’ve been given so I know that our fans are excited about renewing our rivalry with Texas A&M in one of the great bowl games in college football.”

That's pretty conclusive about our view of the Cap 1 Bowl don't you think?

What would you expect a coach to say?

I'm excited...I've always wished T A&M would come to the SEC.

Sorry for the stupid question but did Les actually say
or do they edit these things for the press release? Doesn't sound very Les-esque

Miles would be happy if LSU were playing in the Kraft Fight Hunger bowl. If youre not playing in the National Championship otr a BCS bowl, anything else imo is crap. Who cares if you win The Cotton Bowl, or the Capital One Bowl or any other bowl for that matter!!! Unless you have a chance to win a CHAMPIONSHIP, then i can care less if win this bowl game. Big Friggin WHOOP!

i think a cotton bowl win matters to the polls that will be ranking us next year. if we start high and win, we stay high.
p.s. our first game is in the same stadium vs oregon.

I have to agree. Unless it's the NC, the bowl games are sort of pre-season-ish for next year. Taking off for 2 months - then playing 1 last game shouldn't be your measuring stick for the year. I hope we win - and I'll be watching, but this is not bigger than the Miss State IMO.
