Let’s talk about Georgia football 2016. (Perspective post)

Of course everyone is disappointed with how things went last night but for those on the edge of the cliff, let us take a peek at Georgia in Kirby’s first year.
In 2015, Mark Richt was dismissed and Georgia finished the year at #24 and a 10-3 record. Kirby started out in 2016 with a preseason top 25 ranking and a roster featuring Leonard Floyd, Jordan Jenkins, Sony Michel, Nick Chubb, Roquan Smith, etc. UGA proceeded to go 8-5 including losses to Georgia Tech and 6-7 Vandy at home.
One could argue that Kirby walked into a better situation than Kelly did and his first year featured some nice wins including top 25 UNC & top 10 Auburn. He also lost a few head scratchers and finished the season outside of the top 25.
Maybe we should give Kelly and staff more than 1 game to establish what they want to do and have a body of work to judge before we want to fire the staff.
Oh and btw, in Kirby’s next year, UGA won the SEC and came within an eyelash of winning it all. Just food for thought.

Further looks into the 2016 season,
Only beat Nicholls State by 2 in Athens
Beat 4-8 Missou by a point
Beat 7 win Kentucky by 3
Gave up 21 to UL Lafayette.
So that 8-5 was a whisper from missing bowl eligibility.

Nick Saban went 7-6 his 1st year at Bama. Calm down everyone

It’s absolutely okay to be disappointed.
It’s absolutely absurd to make definitive statements on the staff after one game.

Could argue? It’s 100 percent fact.
