That’s not how you build a stable program if you are a big-time recruiter. The portal is for plugging a couple of holes or re-stocking after a coaching change. Using it as widely as you are talking about is a strategy for smaller programs looking to grab guys who didn’t pan out at larger ones.

College football is changing. Plenty of G5 talent that want to be seen in the SEC and top 5-10 programs with talented guys who want more PT. OM fits perfectly for both scenarios. We really are a sweet spot for the portal. Get HS kids who will play in year 2. Other than that get G5 upperclassment and top tier program leftovers who want more PT. It worked this year like a charm. No reason it wont next year and the year after too.

Or it’s how schools like Oklahoma stay competitive every year. They took like ten transfers last year
