Why do we have to hide our HC pick? You hear so much talk about smoke for this and that. Why not just say who we are hiring now that the season is over. Why even use a "smoke screen" even during the season? What does it matter who everyone knows who we are interested in?

I agree with this. The only thing hiding it does it hurt recruiting and antagonize the PR nightmare.

You don't want to cause distractions foe the team that your coach is currently coaching. That's a dick move and it would just piss off the coach that you want hire.
