As the athletic director, Scott Woodwards job is to represent the university in terms of athletics to a high standard. To those saying that he has someone else in the bag or that this is a part of his plan, as an AD letting your school be dragged through the mud should NEVER be a part of any plan. Did we get played? maybe but regardless you should never let your school be the focus of drama in the world of college football at any point, ever. Even if you have your guy and its someone else, you can't let what's going on right now to happen. The silence is deafening and leads me to believe that we actually did get caught with our pants down. Could we still get a good coach and walk out of this okay? yes. But what we are seeing now should never be by design.

At the end of the day I think we will be okay. We are LSU. But Scott has a massive job to do to win the day and repair the image. There's only a few that he could get to truly repair the damage done

He did not ruin a reputation or allow LSU get drug through the mud. He cannot control the media and what agents release.

You're right. He can't control the narrative or the story outside of LSU. But it's about how you react. If shite goes south, you react and put something out there. Anything. A smokescreen, a deflection, or outright announcing another hire. If you got played you got played. Change the story.
